Updating Item ID’s in MISys
If you’ve ever been in a situation where an item has been created with an extra space or an incorrect character in it that you cannot update because that Item now has lots of history, this post is for you:
There is an update Item Number option in MISys that allows you to make those changes:
The Change Item Number function within Administration under housekeeping allows users to replace a single Item ID with a new Item ID (which works great for single item corrections).
The option can also be switched to a Range, where users can remove/replace a consistent character across a range of items.
