MISys Manufacturing - Deferred SLT Assignments
When processing a SLT transaction in MISys, occasionally a situation may come up when the Serial or Lot number is not known or not readily available at the time the transaction takes place.
MISys allows for the transaction to take place to prevent stoppage in the workflow, and maintains the outstanding SLT assignment active in a register.
As time passes, however, a SLT number from the unassigned transaction can become more difficult to track down. If the day comes when the SL number gets audited or is required for a certificate or some other reason, it may be a significant challenge to track down that SL number.
To prevent a backlog of unassigned SLT transactions, it is a good practice to clear out the unassigned SLT register on a daily or weekly basis.
If you go to Stock Control -> Serial/Lot Numbers -> Assign Serial/Lot Numbers (shown above) you can see any transactions that should have had a serial lot assignment but didn’t get it during the regular production process. You can choose those transactions and make the needed assignments from this screen.
