MISys Manufacturing – Refining your Physical Inventory count sheets using the Advanced Filter.
Counting inventory is challenging at the best of times, so it is good to know that there is a powerful way to refine what appears on a count sheet.
In this example, let us say that there is an attribute or attributes that are useful but not included in the standard Worksheet interface. In this case we are interested in counting only items with an item reference that starts with the letter ‘J’.
First load a list of the full range of items by clicking ‘Edit List’, then using the Advanced Filter, set a clause to include only the items with an Item Reference starting with the letter ‘J’. Click ‘Set’ in the advanced Filter interface to produce a list that only includes items with a Reference that starts with ‘J’.
Once you’ve filtered the list you can create a worksheet to print out for counting and also add the list to your physical inventory batch to record the results.
