MISys Manufacturing – Alternate to Changing Item Type

Sometimes it may be necessary to change the ‘Item Type’ of an item after a while. However, if certain conditions are not met, this will not be possible to do. In that case, the alternate method is to create a new item (e.g., original item no. RM001, new item no. RM001-B), and then use the ‘Replace/Add/Remove BOM Component’ function to replace all original item no. (e.g., RM001) in the system with the new item no. (e.g., RM001-B). This function is available under Administration > Housekeeping menu. Once selected, it allows for multiple options, where you can choose to create new BOM revisions or revise existing revisions etc.
