Assembly Control – Three Accounts in MISys Manufacturing Software

If you’re using MISys – you may want some clarification on exactly what these three assembly control accounts are for and when are they used in transactions.

A grid describing each of those control accounts is below:

In summary, these accounts are used in the processing of production orders (MO’s or WO’s)

Because MISys has only ONE inventory (or WIP) account, and ONE Resource account, it has internal control accounts that it uses to transact these production steps.

Let’s assume that $80 worth of Raw Materials + $40 worth of Labor are consumed to produce a finished good part – valued at $120. In an ideal scenario, the following will occur when is transacted:

In an ideal scenario, the control accounts NET to ZERO.

Transacting through WIP (after a WO or MO has been started) will yield differences. If you’re on STD or AVG Costing you may also see the use of variance or cost change accounts.

If you have any further questions, please reach out to one of us.
