MISys Manufacturing – MRP for MO (with stock consideration)

MRP for MO has long been a function available in MISys, where you are able to purchase all the materials needed for the specific Manufacturing Order down to its subassembly requirements. However, MISys now allows you to consider on-hand stock before creating the purchase orders. Before the introduction of this new functionality, the system always suggested purchasing all requirements as if there was zero stock available on all items. This is now a setting you can change under Administration | Company Options ‘Preferences’ tab.

As can be seen from the above screenshot, there are 4 available options for the user to select before starting to use the MRP for MO function.  For example, if the user selects ‘Always (including subassemblies)’, MISys will run down the exploded Bill of Material, calculate requirements based on MO order qty and consider on-hand stock and suggest creating purchase orders for the shortage.

This new functionality has made the MRP for MO function useful in more situations than the previous version.
